Why do you like it hot?
Is it hot? And who said I like it? But seriously, my favorite part about the heat is when the heaters shut off. When I start to really hate it, I remind myself of all of the benefits and I just keep smiling.
Do you remember your first class?
It was the year 2001 and I fell down a lot. But I got back up each time and I tried every pose.
Why did you become a yoga teacher?
To avoid becoming a lawyer! I thought long and hard about what I wanted from my life, and recognized that all I ever really wanted to do was to help people, and that I could do that by teaching yoga. And, here I am!
Any tips for new students?
Remember one of my favorite Bikramisms: “If you feel nauseous or a little bit dizzy, then you should feel happy! You are getting all of the benefits.”
That, and don’t forget to breathe normally: in and out through your nose.

I appreciate the finer things in life: good friends, good food, and good wine.

It was behind the bowling alley, and I thought I was in love.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever done in class?
Made a student spit their chewing gum out into my hand.
