The furnace has been replaced and the heat is on! Thank you for your patience and persistance. Please note that while the room is hot, we are still working on the details. We still plan to add a thermostat for the ideal temperature, a humidifier for the ideal moisture and proper ventilation. If you haven’t practiced in a while, now is a great time to come back!

Hello yogis,
We hope you’re enjoying your summer and especially your vacation from the heat. We understand that our yoga room has not been as hot as you’d expect from something we call “Bikram’s Torture Chamber”, which is why we are working on a brand new heating system.
I have been working closely with our HVAC professional, Jon from Air Perfection, to solve the issues of the existing heater. We have replaced the induction motor, the blower motor, the motherboard, the timer, and the blah, blah, blah. The point is, there’s not much left on the heater that can be replaced and yet, the heat in the room is still below our expectations.
Since our current heater has proven tricky to repair, we have a couple other options on the table: replace the heater with a similar model to get similar results as we’re used to, or, take this opportunity to take a look at our room and design a heating system that will meet our ideal needs. Ideally, the room should be 105 degrees with 40% humidity; the heater would be efficient and quiet; and there would be a way to quickly ventilate the room.
With that in mind, I have scheduled an appointment with a specialist in the field of hot yoga studios. Chad from Hot Yoga Studio Design will be coming to our studio to give me his professional opinion on what we should do. I will be working with him and Jon to put together a new design that will meet our needs for the next ten years.
During this time, we ask you for your patience and your persistence of practice. While heat is an important element of our practice and one that sets us apart from other yogas, you will find that it is not necessary in order to receive the benefits of a regular practice.
Namaste,
-Steve23 & Juicy Sanchez
